“We have soothed ourselves into imagining sudden change as something that happens outside the normal order of things ... we do not conceive of sudden, radical, irrational change as built into the very fabric of existence. Yet it is. And chaos theory teaches us that straight linearity, which we have come to take for granted in everything from physics to fiction, simply does not exist. Linearity is an artificial way of viewing the world. Real life isn’t a series of interconnected events occurring one after another like beads strung on a necklace. Life is actually a series of encounters in which one event may change those that follow in a wholly unpredictable way. That’s a deep truth about the structure of our universe. But, for some reason, we insist on behaving as if it were not true.” ―Michael Crichton

What to Become Aware of
The Wheel of the Year turns once again, clicking into Samhain with the celebration of a Full Moon (Blue Moon). The mysterious unfoldment of things keeps on moving on. We are ushered forward in hopeful momentum, holding true to our hearts and prayers for the future. We can reach into this time to know that we are not alone in the chaos and uncertainty — we are guided along by all ancestors, from the most recent generations all the way back into time’s origins.
This time of year marks space for us to ritualize communication with guidance from the beyond. The veil between their world and ours is thin and ever-thinning as we becoming active and open to what is shared, passed on, incarnated, remembered.
This is a time of attention: to consider, to glorify, to be active in our honoring of the lives which carved our own. Bones of our bones. Blood of our blood. Circulating the same air. Cleansed of the same waters. Sharing the One Great Spirit of nourishment and care.
We can trust that what comes through at this time — intuitions, quick insights, thoughts, feelings, memories, visions, messages, serendipities — is the exact guidance we seek. Our ancestors speak through us in all ways. We must open now to listen. We must not mistake our despair for aloneness, but for the door into new solutions.
On these days, space is opening on some issues we have felt stuck on in recent months. Many of us have felt creatively blocked. As a symptom of the state of things, it has been easy to fall prey to the illusion that the realities we have been weaving are not actually possible for us.
But here, with the essences of this Moon, we are breaking free of the psychological confines that have created these blocks. We are reprogramming, moving into new levels of possibility, rooted in self-love. The reprogramming, rewiring of possibilities, happens from a knowing of our inherent worth. We can know now that what we see, what we believe to be, is completely possible, and forces beyond our control have got it under control. We can unburden ourselves and welcome divine surprise. New solutions are presenting themselves — stay attentive to the messages coming in.
Moon in Taurus has these messages coming through in quite practical, day to day manners. Be present with everyday tasks to witness how the long path is traversed one foot forward at a time.
May this Full Moon aid in ushering you deeper into who you are, where you have come from, who you have come from, what you came here to do, and how you came here to do it. May this Full Moon remind you of how to walk as unique you, vibrating and resonating in an entirely new way. We may not yet be seeing what we know to be true, but we are changing, we are liberating.
Stay in your joy! Revel in how truly stimulating and revolutionary these times are. These are great opportunities for innovation. Keep coming back to what makes you so happy ― connection, art, music, movement, rest, dreaming. Keep flowing on, know that you are ever-held by the beyond.
What to Become Aware of
Ancestor's Altar
Create an altar dedicated to honoring your ancestors and ancestral lands. If you don't know your ancestors or where they come from, take this time to dig deeper into your family history to find out what you can!
For your altar, gather heirlooms, photographs, write down names and memories. Gather elements of your ancestral lands such as certain plants and foods, colors, oils and scents, language and song.
Have a meditation with your altar in intention to commune with your ancestors and receive guidance. Light a candle and some sacred smoke to carry your prayers and words into their realms.
With a straight spine, open heart, and joyful gaze inward, sit for 20-30 minutes.
After your meditation, write down any insight that came through into your journal.
Fold up this paper and place it onto your altar for the coming days.
